Lzzy Hale and her band HaleStorm had no lack of fans, supporters or friends in Warren, Ohio last night. Fans with general admission tickets waited outside in the rain for over an hour to get in and grab the best spots in front of the stage. By the time the 8:30 pm show started the floor was packed with screaming fans, drinks in hand.

Lzzy’s messages about personal empowerment and being true to yourself resonate strongly with her female fan base and last night’s crowd demonstrated that with an unusually high number of female couples in attendance.

Since there was no opening band, HaleStorm opened for themselves with an acoustic set of originals and some cover songs.

Half way through the acoustic set Lzzy stated that ‘All music is good if it’s good, even if its country’ and then rolled into a great cover of Girl Crush by Little Big Town. Lzzy’s vocals were right on for the pain filled ballad, but the pronounced guitar cadence of the original was barely audible.

Towards the end of the set Lzzy announced that a special fan had a request that required her help. Lzzy handed the microphone to a woman in the front of the crowd who announced that she wanted to propose to her girlfriend and asked for Lzzy’s blessing. Ms. Hale stood up and loudly announced ‘Lzzy approves!’ and with the crowd cheering the happy couple was now officially engaged HaleStorm style.

After a short intermission the bad reemerged and plugged in for the hard rock favorites their fans were waiting for. The energy was non-stop coming from every member of the band and especially Lzzys’ brother Arejay on drums. Arejay moved, and grooved, and jumped and played, at times launching himself two feet off his stool while never missing a beat. Towards the end of the set Arejay put on a mini percussion concert solo that was truly a show of its own.

Every fan got their moneys worth with a high energy, super entertaining performance that went until about 11:00 before calling the Tuesday night rock party over.
